What's the difference between a birth doula and a midwife?
Midwives are medical providers meaning they monitor your health and baby’s health, perform medical exams and deliver baby. Doulas provide non-medical support. We focus on your comfort, confidence, and emotional wellbeing through pregnancy, labour, and postpartum.
When should I hire a birth
doula?
Many families book their birth doula early in pregnancy (around 8–20 weeks) to have plenty of time to connect and prepare for birth together. It’s never too early or too late. Whenever you feel ready for extra support is the right time.
Why hire a birth doula?
Often families choose doulas for continuous support, reduced stress, comfort measures, and guidance in understanding their options.
As a doula, my goal is to enhance your partners support. I do not replace the support.
What kind of support do you provide during labour?
I offer calm, continuous support so you feel safe, supported, and never alone—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Through guidance, hands-on comfort, and a peaceful, faith-filled presence, I help you stay grounded and confident as you trust your body, your baby, and God through birth.
